Monthly plan terms

A summary of the terms of sale for the monthly plan. The full terms, in French, are in the PDF, and they prevail.

Version of 14 October 2026

Summary of the terms of sale (CGV) for the monthly plan. "I" means Jean Paul Quentin EI, trading as Solva Web Design, the "Prestataire" in the terms of sale; "you" means the Client. This English version is for convenience: the French version prevails.

For businesses

The monthly plan is only for clients ordering their site for their business: shops, trades, self-employed professionals, companies. It is not offered to private individuals, nor to associations or other organisations that do not act for business purposes. For now, I only work with businesses, on the monthly plan or the pay-once price.

The price

The monthly fee covers building your custom site, its hosting, the right to use it, and edits to it, described below.

SitePer monthBuyout from month 12
One-page site€100 excl. VAT€600 excl. VAT
Standard site (up to 5 pages, one language)€190 excl. VAT€1,150 excl. VAT
Bigger, or more featuresquotedstated in the quote

No VAT is charged while I qualify for the French VAT exemption (franchise en base de TVA); if I become liable, VAT is added to the prices excl. VAT at the rate then in force. Anything you add to the package (an extra page, for example) is priced in the offer.

No set-up fee

The contract starts on the day you accept the offer, by replying to my email from your own desk, without me present: I never take an acceptance, a signature or a direct-debit mandate at your premises. You then sign the SEPA direct-debit mandate online. The first monthly payment is due on the day you accept and serves as the deposit: it is collected on the first possible date, usually a few working days after you sign the mandate; you are told the amount and dates of the debits by email; later monthly payments are collected at the start of each month of the contract. On your bank statement the debit shows the name of my payment provider (currently GoCardless), with a reference. If your account is outside the SEPA area, or if the offer says so, you pay each monthly payment by bank transfer when you receive its invoice. No other sum is asked for at the start: a one-off extra you choose in the offer (an extra page, for example) is invoiced when the site goes live. (In the case, set out in the terms of sale, where the law gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal, no payment and no direct-debit mandate is asked for in the first 7 days, the start of the contract, the first payment and the 12 months move back accordingly, and I only start work once those 14 days are over, unless you expressly ask me by email to start sooner and acknowledge that you will lose that right once the contract has been fully performed.)

The build

From day one I provide the concept sent with the offer, adapted to your comments, the preparation of the hosting, and my availability to receive your content and requests. I build the site once the first payment has been collected and all your text, photos and information are in. Payments run even if your content is late. If, 60 days after the contract starts, nothing usable has arrived, or only part of it, I put the site live with what I have and placeholder text, which your edits then complete.

12 months, then month to month

The contract runs for 12 months from its start. After that it continues on the same terms with no fixed end: either of us can stop it at any time by email, with one month's notice (to stop at the end of month 12, tell me at least a month before). It never rolls into another locked year.

Stopping before month 12

You can ask by email to stop the debits. You then pay the remaining monthly payments up to the end of month 12 in one go, and nothing more. This is not a penalty: it is the rest of the price, paid early, and your site and your edits keep running until the end of month 12, when the contract ends.

Unlimited edits

Text, photos, prices, hours, menu, team, reviews, news: email them whenever you like, no counting. An edit is a change to what's already on the site, translated into each of the site's languages and live within 2 working days of your complete request. These are not edits, and you get a price before I start: a new page, section, type of block or feature; changes to layout, colours or fonts; writing more than 50 words of text in one request; translating more than about 150 words in one request; retouching photos (cropping and resizing are included) or editing video; work on your logo, Google listing or social media. A run of small requests that together amounts to redoing the site is one project, also priced before I start. Information that went wrong without warning (you moved, closed, or changed phone number) is fixed within 1 working day; a planned change is never urgent. I group your requests into one publish, and I fix my own mistakes straight away, at my expense.

What's yours

Your domain name (always registered in your name), and the text, photos, logo and information you give me, stay yours; you allow me to use them to build, host and edit your site while the contract runs. What I create for you only becomes yours through a written transfer of my copyright, set out in the terms of sale, and within the limits below. Text I write or rewrite for you is yours as soon as I deliver it (and at the earliest once the first monthly payment is made), for your site and all communication about your business, on any medium. A logo you order from me (priced separately) is yours as soon as its price is paid, exclusively, for any use as a sign of your business, including filing it as a trademark, on any medium, worldwide and for the full term of the rights; it stays yours even if the contract ends, and I do not reuse it for anyone else. I do not check whether it is free to use as a trademark: it is up to you to check that before filing it. For text and a logo made with the help of artificial-intelligence tools, I transfer the rights that exist, on the dates given above; for the rest, you get, on those same dates, a permanent permission to use them, at no extra cost, and I claim no rights in them. For the design and code made that way, this permission lasts as long as the contract and becomes permanent if you buy the site. Photos by my partner photographer are transferred or licensed to you by the photographer directly, not by me. My copyright in the site's design and code stays with me unless you buy the site: while the contract runs, you have a non-exclusive licence to use the site. If the contract ends without a buyout, the site stops, you no longer use its design or code, and I send you, as files, your text (including what I wrote for you), your photos, your logo (including the one I made for you, if paid for) and the contact-form messages still kept (each one is deleted from the hosting platform 30 days after it is forwarded to you).

Buying the site

From month 12, while the contract runs and your payments are up to date, you can buy the site for half the pay-once price of the same site (see the table), plus the buyout price stated in the quote for anything added during the contract, if that quote states one. I then transfer to you in writing, through the deed attached to the terms of sale, my copyright in the site as it stands that day, and hand over the complete site folder; the technical components I reuse from site to site stay mine, and you get a permanent licence to use them. The monthly payments stop and edits are no longer included: you can pay for them by the hour (€70 excl. VAT an hour, in 30-minute blocks, priced before I start) or keep them for €70 excl. VAT a month, under the same definition as above, month to month with one month's notice. Hosting stays included, with no fixed end; I can only end it with 6 months' notice, and I then hand over all the site files at no charge.

If a payment doesn't arrive

A debit that is rejected, or refunded to you by your bank, counts as unpaid from that day. Any late payment carries the late-payment penalties and the €40 fixed recovery fee that apply between businesses (the rate is in the terms of sale). The steps: a new debit attempt (if you pay by direct debit) and an email; a phone call; a formal notice (mise en demeure) giving you 15 days; then the site is replaced by a "temporarily unavailable" page and edits are paused until you pay; 30 days after the site went offline, I may end the contract in writing. If that happens during the first 12 months, compensation equal to the remaining monthly payments up to the end of month 12 is added to the unpaid sums and their late-payment penalties and recovery costs, and nothing else. I never touch your domain name or your email.

Prices

They are fixed for the first 12 months. After that, they may change at most once in any 12-month period, and each change is announced in writing 2 months ahead. If you refuse the new price, you can leave before it applies, at no cost and without notice. Prices are not linked to any index.

Your contract stays between us

It is made between you and me only and cannot be transferred to anyone without your written consent. I work with no finance company and no leasing company: none is involved in your contract.

What prevails

This summary does not replace the terms of sale (CGV) for the monthly plan, which come with every offer and are available here: https://solvawebdesign.com/cgv-formule-mensuelle.pdf. If the two differ, the terms of sale apply. The French version prevails over any translation.
